Drupal GovCon 2018 Roundup

Last week Zivtech sponsored and attended Drupal GovCon, one of the leading Drupal-oriented events in the Washington, DC area.

We had a great time meeting and learning from so many Drupal enthusiasts. But we had an even better time hosting a few sessions and spreading the word about Probo.CI.

The three-day conference provided our Marketing Coordinator, Alana, and our Business Analyst, Christian, with their first-ever GovCon experience! They represented Zivtech in the main exhibitor’s hall and happily answered any and all questions regarding our company and Probo.

Our CTO Jody Hamilton and Systems Engineer Jason Moore also held sessions during the conference.

Jody presented with Pantheon Co-founder Matt Cheney and discussed how developers can improve their workflow by creating an industrial grade version control workflow using Git and automatic testing.

Their session focused on a few topics, including how to use Git branches; how to do performance testing, cross-browser testing, and visual regression testing; and how to integrate your workflow with chat solutions like Hipchat or Slack.

Jason led a session that explored the ways in which web development teams and QA teams can use Probo.CI to automate accessibility testing.

Accessibility testing is especially important for government websites because of the 508 Compliance regulations, which require Federal agencies to make their websites accessible to people with disabilities.

Additionally, our CEO Alex hosted a “lightning talk” where he gave a high-level overview of how a semi-automated QA/UAT workflow allows for continuous collaboration.

Alex’s session can be seen in the first five minutes of the video above.

GovCon 2018 was a great opportunity to share the benefits of Probo with our fellow Drupalists and to learn more about how Drupal is being used in the government sphere.

We’re already looking forward to next year!
